STORY OF THE SHOW

Oliver follows the life of young Oliver Twist from inconspicuous beginnings in the workhouse through apprenticeship to the unscrupulous undertaker Sowerberry before making his escape to seek his fortune in London.

Here he falls in with the Artful Dodger and subsequently joins Fagin's den of pickpockets and petty thieves. Escape from this predicament and the clutches of the evil Bill Sikes involves Nancy (Sikes' girlfriend) and the kindly figure of Mr Brownlow.

His adventures and scrapes along this journey are accompanied by a marvellously tuneful score full of songs many of which have now become standards in their own right.
